Bald Eagle captures victory tough CM squad

WINGATE – Clinton County battled Centre County Thursday in an epic non-conference showdown as the Bald Eagle Area baseball team hosted Central Mountain in a battle of two talented teams.

Pitching led the way in the contest as the two teams combined for six hits.

In the end, the Eagles picked up the win, 3-0.

Picking up the win on the mound was  Westin McClain.  McClain finished with a complete game 2-hit shut out. He also collected four strike outs en route to the victory.

Picking up hits in the win were Tayten Yoder, Carson, Nagle Kaden Burns and Connor Perry.

Bald Eagle got on the board in the third, posting a lone run.

Perry led things off in the inning with a single to centerfield.

Cam Watkins joined Perry on base taking a walk.

Perry headed to third on a fielders choice.

Gavin Burns brought Perry home as he also grounded into a fielders choice, making it a 1-0 advantage

The Eagles added some insurance runs in the fifth inning.

with the win, the Eagles improve to 10-2 on the season while Central Mountain falls to 9-3.
