Bald Eagle too much for Bellefonte in Friday rivalry action
BELLEFONTE – The rivalry continued Friday night as Bald Eagle Area came ready to take their undefeated and against an up and coming Bellefonte squad, looking for the their first win.
The Eagles rolled in this page of the storied rivalry as the topped the Red Raiders 55-7.
Bald Eagle opened the game playing ‘white hot’ posting a 27-point first quarter.
Quarterback Carson Nagle lit up the night, tossing six touchdowns and throwing for almost 400 yards through the air.
Nagle opened the game scoring with a 1-yard toss to Nick Wible. The Kaden Burns PAT upped the lead to 7-0.
Minutes later, the Eagles got back the ball into Nagle’s hands and he did not disappoint, hitting Kahale Burns on a 21-yard hook up.
The running game took center stage in the Eagles’ third drive as Cameron Dubbs blasted it in from 2-yards out.
However, the Bellefonte defense was able to get their mitts on the PAT, blocking the kick.
Bald Eagle wasn’t quite done scoring in the period as Nagle once again went airborne and dropping it into the waiting hands of teammate Gavin Burns, making a 27-0 shut out after one period. Three Eagle receivers finished with over 70-plus receiving on the night. They were; Gavin Burns, Kahale Burns and Cam Watkins.
In the second quarter, Nagle was zeroed in, this time finding Cam Dubbs with a 41-yard pass.
Nagle finished off the half the way he started it, hitting on a TD pass. This time it was Beau Taylor for the 28-yard reception, making it 41-0 score at the half.
Nagle added a touchdown as did Preston Reed putting the game in control.
Bellefonte got a one-yard run by Liam Halterman to end the potential shut out.
However, the veteran Eagle team was too much for the Red Raiders as Eagles went onto the victory.
BEA improves to 6-0 while Bellefonte falls to 0-6.
Next up for both teams were Bald Eagle Area home against Clearfield next Friday and Bellefonte at Philipsburg-Osceola next Friday.
