Bald Eagle Area Cling To Victory over Clearfield

Despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down by the end, Bald Eagle still held off for a 5-4 victory on Monday.

Clearfield closed the gap by scoring on a single, a single, and a double.

The Eagles were the first to get on the board in the first when Brayden Dubbs singled, scoring two runs.

Bald Eagle scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to left field by Kaden Burns.

Tayten Yoder earned the win for the Eagles. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and four runs over six and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Hunter Rumsky took the loss for Clearfield. The starting pitcher went five and one-third innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out four and walking six. Westin McClain collected the save.

Dubbs provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Bald Eagle with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Kahale Burns led the Eagles with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position. Bald Eagle had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Burns and Connor Perry led the team with two bases on balls each. The Eagles turned one double play in the game. Bald Eagle were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Burns made the most plays with five.
