Gaisior tosses no-no; Juniata wins again!

Still perfect!!

The Juniata softball team continues to win games in different ways.

Monday, with the bats slow to get started, it would be the Indians defense and pitcher Liz Gaisior.

Gaisior finished with a no-hitter on the night posting 19 strike outs in the win.

Gaisior also had it going at the plate as well with a 3-for-5 night with two runs and 2RBIs. Savannah Smith added a three hit night of her own. She also scored twice in the win

Uncharacteristically, the Indians bats didn’t get clicking until the second when they scored twice.

Smith led things off with a single by the shortstop.

Destiny Yohn followed with a walk.

Ava Lauver put Juniata on the board roping a single into left field scoring Smith on the hit. Yohn moved up to third.

Gaisior picked up the RBI on a fielders choice, making it a 2-0 lead for the visitor.

The hurler kept the Buffaloes at bats in check, cruising through the Newport line up.

But the Lady Indians would not score again until the sixth inning as they posted two more to go up 4-0.

With two outs, Gaisior kept the inning alive with a single into right field.

Regan Lowery kept the two out lightning going laying down a picture perfect bunt down first baseline.

Gaisior and Lowery both stole a base, putting runners on second and third, setting the stage for Lexi Frontz. Frontz reached on an error that allowed both Gaisior and Lowery to up the lead to 4-0.

With the lead, Gaisior continued to send them up and sit them down.

In the seventh inning, the Indians put the game on ice, adding five more runs to take home the 9-0 road win.

Juniata improved to 14-0 on the season.
