East Juniata baseball survives slugfest over Blackhawks

COCOLAMUS – The East Juniata baseball team improved its record to 3-9 on the season as they gutted out a 13-12 victory over Susquenita Monday.

Offensively, the Tigers pounded out 13 hits in the slugfest.

Kelton Bonnell had a sizzling night at the plate, going 3-for-5 and collecting 6 RBIs in the win. He also scored twice on the afternoon as well.

Kolten Martin also finished with three hits as well going 3-for-4 posting 2RBIs and 3runs.

Others picking up two hits on the night were Wyatt Weges and Trent Price.

East Juniata opened the scoring plating a run in the first inning.

The Tigers held a 4-2 advantage going into sixth where both teams exploded with run.

Susquenita got the sixth going with a nine run top.

However, the Tigers would not be denied as they battled back for eight runs of their own, going into the seventh with East Juniata holding onto a 12-11 advantage.

Despite the Blackhawks tying things in the top of the seventh, the Tigers won the game in walk off fashion with a run in their last at bats.
