BEA girls win a thrilling 2-1 win over the Bearcats

Tuesday night, the Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team muscled out a hard fought victory over Huntingdon, 2-1 in Mountain League action.

After falling behind early on, the Eagles clawed their way back into it on a goal on a free kick by Heather Leskovansky.

Makenzie Bickle hit the game winner on an unassisted goal.

Huntingdon led in shots on goal by a 6-3 margin while Bald Eagle Area led in corners by a 6-0 margin.

Bald Eagle goalie Mackenzie Vozniak finished with six saves.

“What a great performance by the girls tonight. They went down early, but fought back and showed some big time resolve and character,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “Heather Leskovansky made a fantastic free kick and Bickle iced it with her breakaway goal. The defense was lights out tonight, led by Cadence Stem, Jordan Franks, Sydney Thompson, Alaina Grant and Alexa Thomas.”

Bald Eagle’s Record is 4-4 overall and 4-3 in the Mountain League.

Next Game: 9/30 @ Bellefonte

In JV action, Bald Eagle blanked the Bearcats 5-0.

Scoring for the Lady Eagles were;

BEA Sybil Thompson 2, Sybil Thompson, Sara Thompson and Khloe Cunningham 2.

JV Record is now a perfect 4-0.
