Bellefonte boys XC team shines at BVI

REEDSVILLE – Tradition.

Saturday morning at the Indian Valley Middle School complex, one of the oldest and traditional kick off to the fall season was the Big Valley Invitational Cross Country meet.

Teams from all over Pennsylvania come to the MIfflin County Course to compete and find out where they stand against their peers in this weekend event.

One of the traditional schools that competed this Saturday at the Big Valley Invitational, was the Bellefonte Cross Country team.

The group on both the boys and girls’ sides had a great start to kick off their season.

“They had a great first invitational for the season!,” said Bellefonte Chad Wiler.

The Red Raider Boys team captured the Big Valley Class AA title and the Girls came in 3rd with their strong performances.

“It is very exciting to start out the season the way the team  has already performed,” said Wiler. “They are ALL working very hard in practices and when we race, it definitely shows. Keep it up team!”

In the Boys Medal Performances

Alex Crist finished the top of his team with a 3rd place run.

Teammates Alex Mansfield and Caleb Vinnedge finished with a 7th and 8th place performance, respectively.

Round out the top runners were Elijah Davis who topped out 13th place and Keith Eicholtz who was next in 14th place.

Girls Medal Performances:m came from Emma Liadis who posted an 8th place mark while another Emma,  Emma Raish worked hard to post and solid 14th place morning.

Next followed was Natalie Jolley in 15th place.

Rounding out the runners was Victoria Schellenberg with a 16th place in the Junior Varsity race. W
