Big Valley sets up undefeated match up versus Mifflin County

STATE COLLEGE – With one swing of the bat, Big Valley’s Marshall Maidens set the tone for his team as the Big Valley 11-12- year old All-Stars defeated the State College American team 11-4 at State.
Long ball were the words of the night as both teams combined for four round trippers.
Big Valley tallied two over-the-fence and one inside-the-park en route to the victory.
Colby Bodtorf picked up the win, coming in in the middle innings while losing at the time.
Bodtorf also had the offense going, highlighted by an inside-the-park round tripper and a single and a stolen base at home.
However, the Americans took the early lead after the first inning blast by Maidens.
In the bottom of the first, Jake Gulley opened the inning with a walk. Teammate Tyden Campbell bounced into a fielders choice.
Colin Davis put another runner on base as he walked, setting the stage for Mason Risha.
Risha took an offering deep into center, taking the lead, 3-1.
In the top of the third, Bodtorf led off the inning with a single. He proceeded to steal his way around the bases until he scored at home,  cutting the State College lead to 3-2.
The Americans held onto the lead until the fourth when Bodtorf roped his home run, scoring Anson Wager, Bodtorf and Maidens on the hit, making it 5-3.
In the bottom of the inning, State College picked up a run, closing the lead to one.
Big Valley added two more in the fifth and five in the sixth, sending them home with the 11-4 victory.
Highlighting the inning, Cole Knable blasted a clutch grand slam en route to the 7-run victory.

Sunday, June 28th
BELLEVILLE- The offensive attack of the Big Valley All-Stars continued as they defeated a previous undefeated Bellefonte team, 8-1.
It sets up a All Mifflin County showdown, Thursday.
