Crown them Champs! Huskies capture Mid-Penn Commonwealth Wrestling title; tops CV

LEWISTOWN – Crown them the champs!!!

The MIfflin County wrestling team clinched the Mid-Penn Commonwealth title.

They did it in grand fashion as they dominated a tough Cumberland Valley team 41-15.

With a packed house full of fans, the Huskies gym was full of fans wanting to see the Huskies add another chapter to its long and distinguished history.

Mission accomplished.

The match started at 172 pounds and Cumberland Valley took the first match. Anthony Bruscino pinned Avery Aurand at 5:50.

Back came the Huskies at 189. Trey Shoemaker  notched a 10-1 major decision over Elijah Jumper.

MC’s Anson Wagner took the 215-pound weight class with a dominating tech. fall over Braylon Stair 15-0 at 4:40.

285-pounder Jaxson Pupo continued the Huskies dominance as he won by pin fall Anthony Joppy at 1:33.

The Eagles bounced back at 106-pounds. Phil Montes pinned Styers Oden at 1:05.

At 113, the Huskies got a major decision win by Nic Allison over Connor Killion 8-0.

Things continued to roll for the Purple and Black attack. At 120-pounds Hunter Johnson took a 7-1 decision over Jacob Mitchell.

Colby Seiler had a nail biting win for the Huskies at 126 as he escaped a close 4-3 decision over Ethan Whittaker.

The Huskies were tough up and down the line up and at 132 this was the case.

Blake Aumiller added thre more points to the Huskies lead as he won by an 8-4 decision over Jaciah Whitcomb.

138: Jacob Cunningham (MCH) over Owen McKenzie (CVH) (Dec 3-2)

At 145 Husky fan favorite Deakon Schaeffer won by a convincing 9-1 victory over Dayne Miller.

152-pounder Gabriel Belga got the Eagles’ last win as he outlasted Parker Kearns by a 5-1 decision.

Concluding the night for the Huskies was 160-pounder Kyler Everly he defeated via a pinfall over Mitchell Strous at 1:33.
