East Juniata blanks Upper Dauphin

There were goals aplenty Wednesday afternoon when the East Juniata girls’ soccer team battled Upper Dauphin.
However, all the girls came from the East Juniata side as the Lady Tigers dropped UD 13-0.
Hailey Swartz got things going as she got a pass thanks toPaige Crissman and sent it home at 2:44.
Teammate Kierstyn Fogle notched the team’s second goal at 6:50 assisted by Theas Neimond.
Eleana Benner added some excitement on her goal. As she blasted a goal off a Penalty kick 12:22 in.
Minutes later Fogle hit her second goal of the posting an unassisted goal at 14:43 to add another insurance.
“The girls played hard, and we were excited to see the intensity pick up from previous games,” said East Juniata coach Valeria Dressler.
East Juniata upped the lead to 5-0 as Leah Sankey picked up a goal at 17:03.
Just over two minutes later Emily Wert, on an assist by Kierstyn Fogle, plastered the Tigers’ sixth goal.
Maddison Coudriet added goal number seven thanks to an assist by Eleana Benner.
Minutes later, Thea Neimond got into scoring act thanks to an assist by Maddison Coudriet to up the East Juniata advantage to 8-0.
Paige Crissman, Kierstyn Fogle,Amara Brubaker and Leah Sankey rounded out the scoring en route to the 13-0 shut out.
The Tigers finished with 27 Shots on goals and five corners.
East Juniata Goalie Lily Sankey collected seven saves in the victory.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 2-0 in the Tri-Valley League and 3-1 overall.
East Juniata’s Next game will be Saturday as EJ hosts Muncy at 6:30.
