East Juniata tops Huntingdon

The East Juniata field hockey team found the back of the cage seven times Monday night as they defeated Huntingdon 7-1.
In the first half, the Tigers got goals from
Emily Knepp (Sarah Goss) 27:33; Kyli Dowling 20:46; Sarah Goss 16:50 while Huntingdon got a goal from Kelly Ardrey (Olivia Bell) 10:45.
The girls played great tonight! They came out ready to play and continued to play the entire game and kept the pressure on Huntingdon,” said East Juniata coach Harley Straub. “The girls put everything together that we have been working on and were able to come out with a win. I am proud of the girls and how they played! We will bring our game tomorrow in a league game against Susquenita.”
In the second half, the scoring continued for East Juniata as Frances Brubaker (Laney Dowling) 18:06; Laney Dowling (Sarah Goss) 14:44; L. Dowling (Kyli Dowling) 10:14 and Brubaker rounded out the scoring.
EJ out shot the Bearcats 17-3 and led in corner opportunities 10-2.
In the JV Game, East Juniata defeated Huntingdon 7-0.
East Juniata’s next game is Tuesday, September 19th at Susquenita at 4:00.
