Forbes Road field hockey tops East Juniata

It was a tough night for the East Juniata field hockey team as they fell to Forbes Road 7-0.

“The girls kept playing through some circumstances that were out of their control, and they kept playing hard despite the rough play that was going on,” said East Juniata coach Harley Straub. “They had nice passes and had some good drives.  Emily Carolus has been doing a phenomenal job in the goal.  We will take tomorrow to prepare for Greenwood.”

In the first half, Forbes Road got on the scoreboard on a Carly Skinner goal at 20:40.

Harlie Strait rounded out the first half scoring with a goal at 17:59.

In the second half, Corbes Road rallied for five more goals.

Strait led things off once again this time at 20:15.

Kaelonni Lashinsky followed with a goal at 19:39

Less than five minutes later, Quincy McMath scores at 14:09.

Madison Hays continued the run at 5:35,

Payton Kendall rounded out the scoring with a late goal hit at 4:06.

Forbes Road outshot the Tigers 24-15 while holding a 6-2 advantage in corner opportunities.

The East Juniata goalieEmily Carolus had 17 saves.

In the JV game East Juniata won 3-1.

The Tigers overall record is 0-8-1 and a TVL record of 0-5.  

East Juniata’s next game is Thursday when it travels to Greenwood at 7:00 p.m.
