Houtz finishes swimming career in grand fashion

The Liberty Flames women’s swimming and diving team won their 6th conference championship in a row this weekend, at the ASUN Conference Championships at the University of Tennessee.

Senior Sydney Houtz won a bronze medal in the 100 backstroke with a lifetime best of 54.50, and finished 4th in the 200 backstroke with another lifetime best of 1.57.44.

She concludes her career holding the 4th fastest 50 backstroke record all-time in Liberty history, as well as the 7th fastest time in 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke.

She was a 7 time district champion for Juniata High School, a bronze medalist twice and a five time medalist in the state of PA, as well as a multiple time finalist at YMCA Nationals.
