Indian matmen goes 2-1 at Juniata Duals
MIFFLINTOWN – The Juniata Indian wrestling team went 2-1 Saturday in the Juniata Duals.
In their match against Southern Huntingdon, the Indians dominated 66-12.
Anthony Maradiaga started things off with a win at 114. Maradiaga won by pinfall over Camden Lamberson at 1:08.
121: Joseph Bomberger added a pin of his own at 121 pinning Noah Fogal at 3:06.
At 127, Coy Kerstetter pinned Diego Ricker at 2:21.
Colten Rowles won at 133 by a forfeit.
Things finished the same at 139 as Ty Fahnstock also got the free hand raise.
Ryder Smith joined the list of pins as he won by pinfall over Caleb Leidy at 5:13 at 145.
There was another Juniata pin at 160. Charlie Telfer won by pinfall against Landon Booher at 1:47.
Things continued to roll at 172, Javier Lopez pinned Colt Cornell Jr. by fall at 0:13.
189-pounder Harrison Mummah won by a forfeit.
At 215, Kelton Bonnell won by pinfall over Jesse McGahan 1:52.
Rounding things out at 285, Lane Peiper pinned James Taylor at 0:59.
In their match against Harrisburg, the Indians needed all the points they could get, defeating the Cougars 30-29.
Juniata started its winning ways at 114. Anthony Maradiaga won by technical fall over Kynelle Brown, winning 20-5 at 4:22.
At 121, Joseph Bomberger took an 11-4 decision over Deyser Perez.
Colten Rowles added a pin at 133. Rowles won by pinfall over Tyrone Norris at 1:22.
At 139, Ryder Smith had a tough 6-3 battle over Barry Daniels en route to winning by pinfall.
172-pounder Javier Lopez muscled his way to a 4-3 decision over Mekhi Newman.
At 189, Harrison Mummah pinned Gideon Fasanya at 5:25.
Lane Peiper dominated in his match at 215. Peiper won by a 12-0 major decision over Rajohn Rodriguez.
Juniata fell to Berks Catholic on their match up of the day, falling 59-9.
The Indians got wins from Harrison Mummah at 189 as he pinned Eric Bennethum at 1:06.
Rounding out the wins for Juniata was at 215 when Kelton Bonnell won by decision over Palmer Reber 1-0.
