Mifflin County matmen roll to a 4-1 record at Clearfield Bison Duals

CLEARFIELD- Running through the competition.

Saturday the MIfflin County wrestling traveled to do battle in the Clearfield Bison Duals. The Huskies finished the day going 4-1 with its only loss coming to a very tough Port Allegheny team that outlasted the Huskies 33-27.

Mifflin County rolled with wins over Union City (61-6), Indiana (57-18), DuBois (46-20) and Butler (46-18).

The Huskies best match of the day came against Union City.

Mifflin County 61, Union City Area 6

Starting things off for the Huskies at 121 was Jake Knable. Knable won by pinfall over Braedon Eastman at 0:32.

Kamden Everly dominated Billy Cole by a tech fall 19-4 at 6:00 for the win at 133.

Things continued to roll at 139. Brian Albert shut out Zakkary Tomcho posting a 10-0 major decision.

Mifflin County notched its second pinfall of the match at 145. Colby Seiler pinned Hunter Michael at 0:28.

At 152, Parker Kearns continued his dominating season pinning Zach Chaffin at 0:23.

160-pounder Deakon Schaeffer also picked up a pinfall taking care of  Drake Applequist at 2:29.

The falls continued to come for the Huskies as 172-pounder Avery Aurand was able to put Kyle Ploss’shoulders on the mat, at 0:47.

Gavin Mickey notched a forfeit win at 189.

Teammate, 215-pounder Truitt Davis also picked up an easy win by forfeit.

Moving to the lightweights at 107-pounds Andrew Alexander kept Van Ward in check in their bout, winning by a major 8-0 decision.

Rounding out the contest at 114, Paxton Shawver pinned David Dominguez-Ashton at 3:24.

Port Allegany 33, Mifflin County 27

In the only loss for the Huskies on the afternoon, MIfflin County still had some strong efforts.

Kamden Everly took 133, with a tech fall over Colton Furgeson 16-0 at 3:49.

In one of the closest contests in the match, 145-pounderColby Seiler muscled out a well deserved 5-4 decision over Alden Furgeson.

It was another quick match at 152 for Parker Kearns as he had a pinfall in just :50 over Peyton Stiles.

At 160, Deakon Schaeffer battled  Mason Gordon to a 7-3 decision.

Avery Aurand dominated 172, as he allowed just one escape over Aiden Bliss in a 10-1 major decision.

Finally at 107, Andrew Alexander pinned Bradley Stilson at 1:14.

Mifflin County 57, Indiana Area 18

Colby Seiler got things started on the right foot in the Huskies at 145. Seiler pinned Jacob Snyder at 1:01.

Parker Kearns had an easy win at 152, taking the forfeit.

At 160, Deakon Schaeffer had a very quick win over Trent Bufalo winning by pinfall at 0:26.

Avery Aurand took 172 with a 6-0 decision over Dominic Fanella.

189-pounder, Gavin Mickey continued the pinfall for Mifflin County as he took care of Jackson Higgins at 1:51.

At 215, Truitt Davis pinned Chris Seger at 0:54.

In the heavyweight division at 285, Dekker Pietzsch pinned Cash Allshouse at 1:38.

At 107, Andrew Alexander won by forfeit as did 114-pounder Paxton Shawver.

Rounding out the match at 121, Jake Knable pinned Conner Sevajian 0:45.

Mifflin County 46 Dubois 20

Starting at 107, Andrew Alexander pinned Peyton Geer at 5:47.

At 114, Paxton Shawver muscled out a 5-3 decision over Antonio Giambanco.

Jake Knable made it a quick 121-pound match pinning Aaron Chewning at 0:27.

At 133, Kamden Everly shut out Samson  Deeb, winning by decision at 6-0.

145-pounder Colby Seiler pinned Landen Buchanan at 2:31.

Another win came at 152, Parker Kearns tallied another quick pinfall in his win over Carter Vos 0:37.

Deakon Schaeffer made it a dominating win over Alex George at 160. Schaeffer won by major decision at 15-3.

189-pounder Gavin Mickey won by pinfall over Jason Gardner at 1:01.

Rounding out the Huskies win at 215 was Truitt Davis pinning Shane Kerner at 2:39.

Mifflin County 46, Butler 18

Andrew Alexander had his way at 107, picking up a 7-0 win over Nicholas Savannah.

Paxton Shawver took care of 114 with a 9-0 major decision over Sullivan Stutz.

At 127, Jake Knable took care of Ira Stiefel winning by pinfall at 0:48.

Kamden Everly had a tough battle at 133 but was able to take home the win over Leo Iarrapino 7-3.

Colby Seiler won a high scoring 15-8 decision over Gavin Rush in the 145-pound weight class.

Parker Kearns, who was undefeated on the day, pinned Brycen Seth at 1:24 in the 152-pound weight class.

Deakon Schaeffer once again picked up a pinfall at 160. Schaeffer won by pinfall over Dawson Davis at 1:46.

Avery Aurand took the win at 172, picking up a forfeit win.

Rounding out the pinfall at 189 was Gavin Mickey. Mickey pinned Braylon May in quick fashion at 0:33.

At 215, Truitt Davis won a 9-2 decision over Lucas Zanaglio.
