Simmons sets school record in 60m, Mifflin County Indoor track and field competes at Susquehanna
The MIfflin County Indoor track and field team went to Susquehanna University to compete against about 25 other teams Sunday.
The boys 4×800 (Caden Bell, Isaac Parks Gill, Tylor Druckemiller, and Carter Smith) started off the meet with a winning time of 8:29.94.
The Huskies second 4x800m (Cody Fultz, Styers Oden, Aidan Scavitti, and Koy Aurand) team also finished in the top 8.
This was followed by Myka Simmons resetting his own school record in the 60m dash in back-to-back races. In the trials, he laid down a time of 7.18 seconds. He followed this up with a finals race time of 7.13 seconds, earning a third place finish.
Danielle Warfel raced her way into a top 8 finish in the 400m with a time of 1:05.15.
Carter Smith ran a solid 800m race, winning with a time of 2:01.19. Myka then raced in the 200m, finishing fourth with a time of 23.57. Throughout the day, the athletes were able to earn personal records, like Kylie Lynch in the Shot Put with a throw of 24’6.5″ and Mary Kanagy in the 60m hurdles with a time of 11.74 seconds.
