Juniata falls in close battle with Greenwood

The Juniata baseball team found themselves in a battle with a tough Greenwood team Tuesday.

The two Tri-Valley League rivals renewed their rivalry with the Wildcats escaping with a slim 7-6 win.

Juniata opened the contest playing four runs in the top of the first.

C Kepner led off the inning with a one-out single to left.

Grant Reinhold moved Kepner to third, smacking a single to put runners on the corners.

Wyatt Stoner loads the bases with a walk.

All move up a base on a fielders choice RBI by B Snyder, making it a 1-0 ball game.

G Harlon reloads the bases on a walk of his own.

M Nipple blasts a double, scoring Reinhold, Stoner and Harlon.

But the Wildcats battled back in the bottom of the inning, playing five runs of their to take the 5-4 lead.

Juniata tied things in the third.

Stoner singles to start the inning.

He would move up a base on a wild pitch.

With Stoner in scoring position, teammate B Snyder brought him home on a RBI fielders choice.

Greenwood outscored the Indians 2-1 in the final three innings to take the victory.
