Lady Huskies fall in double header versus Trojans

Mifflin County Varsity Huskies Cannot Hold Onto Lead Versus Chambersburg Lady Trojans

Mifflin County  lost to Chambersburg 11-4 on Tuesday even though they once led by four runs.

The Lady Huskies were the first to get on the board in the first when Jalee Bodtorf singled, scoring two runs.

Mifflin County scored two runs in the top of the second on a home run to center field by Ava Baker.

Chambersburg  tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a double by Breanne Paetow, and a single by Addison Gsell.

The Lady Trojans flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring seven runs on four hits to take a 11-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Samantha Paetow that drove in two.

Kori Leedy earned the win for the Lady Trojans. They allowed seven hits and four runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Piper Specht took the loss for Mifflin County. The righty went four and one-third innings, giving up six runs on six hits, striking out two and walking eight.

Bodtorf, Riley Hine, Dakota Hershberger, Savannah Powell, Arika Henry, Baker, and Alaina Sharp each collected one hit for Mifflin County . Bodtorf and Baker each drove in two runs for the Huskies. Mifflin County turned one double play in the game.

Paetow and Gsell each collected two hits for Chambersburg. Saleen Null, Gsell, and Paetow each drove in two runs for the Lady Trojans. Chambersburg  had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 11 walks for the game. Paetow, Karley Skultety, Leedy, and Malia Cramer led the team with two bases on balls each. The Lady Trojans were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Skultety had the most chances in the field with eight.

Game 2

Mifflin County Defeated By Chambersburg

The Mifflin County Huskies lost to Chambersburg 7-2 in game two of the double header on Tuesday.

The Lady Trojans opened the scoring in the fourth after Morgan Lehman singled, scoring one run.

Samantha Paetow hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fifth for the Chambersburg .

Breanne Paetow hit a grand slam to right field in the top of the sixth for the Lady Trojans.

Saleen Null earned the win for Chambersburg. The right-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Macy Pietch took the loss for Mifflin County. The starting pitcher went five and one-third innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits, striking out none and walking four.

Arika Henry went 2-for-3 at the plate as they led the team with two runs batted in.

Lauren Allison and Paetow each collected two hits for Chambersburg . Paetow led the Lady Trojans with four runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-5 on the day. Chambersburg turned one double play in the game. The Lady Trojans were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Sanay Jones made the most plays with eight.

Next up for Mifflin County is a game at Cumberland Valley on Wednesday.
