Juniata falls to UDA on road

Upper Dauphin played the role of unfriendly host Monday as it defeated the Juniata baseball team 6-2.

The Indians had eight hits on the night while UDA had 12. 

Juniata got its only runs in the third. 

Winning Pitcher  on the night was Zach Smeltz while Losing Pitcher  was Paul Ames.

Juniata went through three pitchers on the night. They were  Ames (3K’s, O walks),Will Orwig (3 K’s, O Walks)and Logan Kehler(1K, 0 Walks).

Opposing Pitcher Zach Smeltz struck out nine along with two walks. 

UDA was led by home runs by  Carson Barge (2).

Juniata got doubles by Jamie Bailer (1) and Devon Nealman (1).

UDA got doubles from Maison Grow (1), Nathan Wise (1) and Jake Ramberger (1). 

Juniata Batters with Multiple Hits were Jamie Bailer 3-for-4, Devon Nealman 2-for-3 and CJ Bonson 2-for-4.

Upper Dauphin Batters with Multiple Hits were Maison Grow 2-for-4, Carson Barge 3-for-4 and Nathan Wise 2-for-3. 

“We didn’t put runs on the board in the 1st inning when we had the opportunity,” said Juniata coach Nick Beward. “We’ve been stressing the importance of getting the early lead.”
