Juniata girls roll to a 14-1 victory

MIFFLINTOWN – Lighting it up!!
There was no problems with the Juniata girls scoring ability Monday night as the Indians’ soccer team scored early and often as it made a big showing against Upper Dauphin, 14-1.
Juniata’s Lilli Reed got the scoring started as she caught a pass from Carly Orris only 4:30 into the game, making it 1-0.
An unassisted goal by teammate Sydney Sheaffer at the 8-minute mark, upped if to 2-0.
Josie Swartz , who led her team in scoring on the night got a pass from Nylah Pannebaker 11:00 into it, continuing the scoring at 3-0.
For the second time in the contest Reed with the help from Nylah Pannebaker notched another goal to up it to 4-0 at the 17:46 mark.
“This was one of those games where, as a team, it is sometimes difficult to stay disciplined and stick to the style of play you practice. The first half we struggled with this. Some bad first touches and ill advised passes,” Juniata coach Brian Strawser said. “The second half our discipline was much better and I’m sure our time of possession improved.”
Josie Swartz continued to pound the Upper Dauphin net as she got a pass from Makenzi Beward at the 19:48 mark, tickling the twine to a 5-0 mark.
The shut out continued as Makenzi Beward added another goal. She got a pass from Nylah Pannebaker to continue the onslaught at 27:05.
Juniata upped its lead to 7-0 when Makenzi Beward hit a goal with a 37:14-mark.
UDA got its only goal when Kaylee Pendal posted an unassisted goal at 38:36 to cut it to 7-1
Swartz from Sydney Sheaffer upped the score once again at 40:05.
For the fourth time Swartz scored. This time the pass came from Reed
Sydney Sheaffer put her name in the scorebook thanks to a pass from Reed 10-1.
Makenzi Beward from Nylah Pannebaker kept the Juniata offense rolling.
Maci Kreider added her goal at the 67:32 mark of the game.
Janessa Swartz,thanks to a pass from Makenzi Beward, gave her team a 13-1 advantage.
Rounding out the Indians’ scoring was Macie Kreider’s unassisted goal to finish the 14-1 victory.
Shots on goal were led by the Lady Indians as they out shot Upper Dauphin 29-10.
In Corner kicks, Juniata blanked UDA 5-0.

Juniata goalie Kali Foltz had nine saves while UDA’s Kaylee Gessner collected 15
