HUNTINGDON, PA – The Juniata women’s soccer team (5-4-1, 1-1 Landmark) fell 0-3 to the Scranton Royals (7-2-1, 2-0 Landmark) Friday afternoon.

Scranton’s Kelsey Bacon set the tone for the Royals when she drove one past Kerry Leonard (Cockeysville, MD / Maryvale Prep) in the fifth minute of the game. The goal is the first Leonard has allowed since Sept. 9. She recorded nine saves against the Royals.

The Eagles stayed aggressive throughout the game and out of their seven shots, only one wasn’t on goal.

Devin Kos (Bellefonte, PA / Bellefonte Area), Emily Green (Maytown, PA / Donegal), Maggie Pozenel (Croton-on-Hudson, NY / Croton-Harmon), Kristen Behrens (Jonestown, PA / Lebanon Catholic), Sarah Rhodes (Bloomfield, NY / Bloomfield Central) and Jessica Zavadak (Lebanon, PA / Cedar Crest) recorded the shots on goal for the Eagles.

Next up for Juniata are the Monarchs from King’s (PA) on Wed. Oct. 7 at 3:30pm.
