Juniata sweeps series versus EJ in fourth quarter run

MIFFLINTOWN – Another meeting between rivals Juniata and East Juniata basketball teams proved to be another wild one as the two battled to a 49-41 contest with the Indians coming out on top, sweeping the Tigers on the year.

With the win, Juniata ups it’s record to a solid 7-3 output.


Juniata’s Jace White paved his team in the win finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds for his 1st double/double.

Teammate Manny O’Donell led all Tigers’ scorers with 15 points.

East Juniata got a strong 16-point outing by Tanner Barth for the lone double-digit scorers.

The game was a close one even from the very beginning as the Tigers outscored the Indians by a mere one point, 13-12.

Max Lauver led Juniata with six points while East Juniata got six points Barth.

Juniata’s defense took control of the second period as they outscored EJ 11-9.

When the two teams went into the intermission, Juniata led 23-22.

Things remained tight as the two went out of the intermission and into the third period.

Both teams scored 12 each

As the game went into the final stanza, the Indians still held one-point lead.

Juniata saved the best for last as it outscored the Indians 14-7 en route to the victory.
