Juniata takes home victory in walk off fashion

Walking it off!

Juniata baseball picked up a win Monday night in nail biting fashion, defeating Newport in walk off fashion 6-5.

In the TVAA contest, the Indians found themselves tied 5-5 going into the bottom of the seventh.

Grant Reinhold got the inning off and running poking a single into right.

Gage Harlon smashed a hit to first base which allowed Reinhold to scurry to third.

Brandon Snyder ended the contest with an RBI single, scoring Reinhold to end the contest in grand fashion.

Offensively, the Indians were led by Reinhold who finished with a 3-for-4 evening with two runs scored.

Other finishing with multiple hits were Daylyn Kennedy, Wyatt Stoner and Harlon. Stoner and Kennedy both tallied 2RBIs.

Picking up the win for Juniata was Kennedy.

Both teams came out in the first inning and posted a run.

Report took the lead in the third to go up 2-1.

However, the Indians rallied back in the plating three in the fifth. They would add another run in the sixth, upping its lead to 5-2.

But the Buffaloes were cool under pressure, tying the game with three in the seventh.

That would set the stage for the Juniata crew to rally one last time and take home the hardware fought victory.
