Kish has special debut in the Central Keystone League

MILROY – Sunday had special meaning for the Kish Indians’ football organization.

Not only did they make its debut in the Central Keystone Football and Cheer Organization but most importantly the group had a fundraiser for the Sheetz family.

Their son Kyler is battling cancer and was front and center at the game to cheer the Indians on.

The Pee-Wee’s honored Kyler at halftime with giving him a signed football helmet and a check that the team had raised at their concession stand for over $700.

He posed with the coaches and players as the players rallied around him in support of his courageous battle.

In the game against Terrace, the Kish offense looked strong, especially its running game as the team rushed for over 200 yards in the 36-20 victory over the visiting Tigers.

Kish got the ball first an and collected its first touchdown on a clutch fourth and six situation, making it 6-0 as the kick for the extra point failed.

In the first possession for Terrace, the Indians’ defense was immovable, forcing Terrace to punt.

The Indians scored once again as it went on a 4-play drive which concluded with a second long run of the night. With the extra point, Kish went up 13-0.

Kish’s offense continued to roll in the second quarter as it went into the intermission leading 20-0.

In the third quarter, Kish would go ahead 30-0 before the Tigers would start its comeback attempt.

With 1:27 left in the third period, the Tigers scored its first points on a 62-yard pass play, cutting it 30-6.

Kish added a touchdown to put itself up by 30.

Terrace refused to give up and rallied to post two more touchdowns in the final stanza to cut the game to a 36-20 score before they ran out of time.

It was quite a debut for the Indians as they started their Central Keystone existence.
