Lady Eagles fall to tough So. Williamsport squad

MILL HALL – It was quite a run for the Bald Eagle Area softball team this season.

Unfortunately, the Lady Eagles were tripped up Monday by a fiesty South Williamsport team and their slugger Sage Lorson.

Lorson delivered two homers in the contest en route to the 3-0 PIAA Semi Final victory over Bald Eagle.

She brought in all three runs for South Williamsport, roping a 2-run shot in the fifth inning and then a solo shot to give her team an insurance run in the seventh.

The Lady Eagles ended its season with a quite impressive 20-5 record and a District 6 crown.

Pitcher Sierra Albright struck out seven, allowed three runs off four hits in a strong effort in the circle.

The Mounties also got a good showing at the pitching position as Alizabeth Schuler went the distance allowing four hits and striking out two.

Offensively, Ava Stere led the Lady Eagles on the afternoon, going 2-for-2. Teammates Shae Housel and Kailey Eckert picked up the other two hits for Bald Eagle Area.

Both teams had only one error on the night.

Despite the loss, another page in the long and distinguished Eagles’ softball program was added as the team finished as one of the top for teams in the class.
