Lady Huskies top CD East for 2nd win in three games

The Mifflin County girls basketball team is starting to heat up as late as they defeated Central Dauphin East Monday to make it 2-out-of-3 wins, 60-57.

Leading the way for the upstart Huskies was Marissa Gingrich with a 21-point effort.

Teammate Brianna Bodtorf provides the one-two punch for the Lady Huskies, finishing with 19 points.

Rounding out the double-digit scorers was Hannah Rittenhouse with 10.

Mifflin County came out sizzling in the first quarter thanks to Gingrich’s eight points. The Huskies outscored CD East 26-19 after one quarter.

In the second,Mifflin County extended its lead outscoring East 13-6, taking a 39-25 advantage into the intermission.

Coming out of the half, CD East shot itself back in the ball game posting a 17-7 third.

Despite outshooting Mifflin County 15-14, it was too little too late as the Lady Huskies held on for the victory.
