Lady Raiders fall to Tyrone in Mountain League showdown

The Bellefonte Lady Raiders fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-6 loss to Tyrone on Thursday.  The Eagles scored on a home run by Macey Tuskovitch in the first inning, a single by Allison Beeman in the second inning, and a double by Tiffanie Tuskovitch in the second inning.

Despite the loss, Bellefonte did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Tyrone had 12 hits on the way to victory.

The Eagles fired up the offense in the first inning, when Tuskovitch hit a solo homer.

The Lady Raiders tallied three runs in the seventh inning.  Bellefonte’s big bats were led by Sienna Barnhart, Taylor Brown, and Jaylee Lose, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Tyrone scored four runs in the sixth inning.  Tuskovitch, Kaleigh Broszina, and Beth Pearson each drove in runs during the inning.

Madelyn Rockwell took the win for Tyrone. Rockwell allowed eight hits and six runs over six and a third innings, striking out seven.  Samantha Shaw threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Alaina Smith took the loss for Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing ten hits and eight runs.

Bellefonte scattered ten hits in the game.  Lose, Madison Ripka, Brown, and Madison Melius each managed multiple hits for The Lady Raiders.  Melius, Brown, Ripka, and Lose all had two hits to lead Bellefonte.

Tyrone racked up 12 hits on the day.  Maci Brodzina, S Shaw, Pearson, and Beeman all managed multiple hits for Tyrone.  The Eagles stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Brodzina led the way with three.
