All Rained Out!
Spring Creek Shockers 2, Foxpro Predators 1 (Postponement due to rain)
LEWISTOWN – Despite their best efforts to get a game going, Mother Nature had other plans during a ball game between the Spring Creek Shockers and the Foxpro Predators on Sunday.
The rain was coming down but both teams were willing to give it a shot. During the top half of the first inning, Foxpro pitcher Tristin Lockett got the first two batters out with the first being a strikeout on Josh McConnell and then got Rudy Hersh to groundout to third baseman Isaiah Kearns.
But then the Shockers got the bats going as Chad Battista reached first base with a single to right field. Then Spring Creek starting pitcher Jon Pelky stepped up to the plate and was ahead on the count. With a 3-1 pitch, Pelky blasted one deep to centerfield for a two run homer.
But the Predators answered in the bottom half of the inning thanks to Hayden Snook who smacked in Jaxson Pupo who was trying his best not to slip heading into home plate from second.
However as they tried to go with the top of the second inning, the rain did its damage and both teams decided to postpone the game till Friday at 6 p.m. back at the Mifflin County High School.
The Foxpro Predators will rest up and will be preparing for Wednesday as they will travel to face the Blanchard Bees. Meanwhile Spring Creek will do battle at Spring Mills on Thursday.
