Lighting up the scoreboard!! Lady Huskies sizzle in win over Cougars

LEWISTOWN – Turning up the heat!!!

Mifflin County’s triple threat trio of Bri Bodtorf, Marissa Gingrich and Kate Knable exploded offensively for the Lady Huskies as they defeated the Cougars of Palmyra 56-20 in front of a rowdy Dawg Pound Student Section.

The three alone combined to outscore the Cougars 44-20 in their victory.

Bodtorf finished as leading scorer with a 17-point effort. Gingrich followed closely behind with 15 while

Knable notched 12.

Mifflin County started out strong posting a 10-3 advantage after one. Knable led things with four.

Things continued to sizzle for the Lady Huskies as its defense continued to shut down the Cougars offense.

Again, Palmyra was held to single digits only scoring five in the quarter while the Huskies rallied for 13.

Leading the scoring for MIfflin County was Bodtorf with seven.

The Huskies went into the intermission holding a 23-8 advantage.

There was no stopping the MIfflin County offense on this night as the Huskies outscored the Cougars once again. This time the Lady Huskies scored 15 while Palmyra scored eight.

Despite having a very comfortable lead, the “Purple and Black attack” continued to add to the scoreboard.

When the buzzer sounded in the final stanza, the Huskies outscored the Cougars 18-4 en route to the victory.
