MC Central tops Penn’s Valley
Opening the Juniata Valley Football championship weekend was a lopsided battle between the Mifflin County Central Midgets as they went up against Penns Valley in the Fox Pro Bowl.
It was all Huskies on this day at Mifflin County’s Legendary Mitchell Field, 32-0.
After getting the ball to start out the game, Mifflin County’s offense rolled down field with ease as it would put the first points on the board.
Regan Ettinger scored the “Purple and Black attack’s” first touchdown from six yards out, making it 6-0.
Despite no other first quarter scoring, Mifflin County would make the most of its opportunities in the second to blow the door open.
With 8:21 left in the half, Brennan Pennington muscled his way in from four yards out, making it 12-0.
On the following kickoff, Mifflin County got the ball back and got back the momentum.
Two plays later, Anson Wagner found Hector Maldonado, increasing it to 18-0.
Lady Luck was not on the Rams’ side as they fumbled on the first snap of their next possession.
Ettinger made them pay as he showed his speed as well as he blazed his way down the field for a 36-yard run, upping it to 25-0.
Mifflin County scored one last time before the half when Landon Eichhorn found Ettinger for the 32-0 lead.
With the game setting over 30 points, the game went into Mercy Rule status and neither team was able to score, giving Mifflin County the victory.
