MC field hockey guts out a 3-2 victory over Chambersburg

LEWISTOWN – Playing it’s second game in as many days, the Mifflin County field hockey team gutted it out and finished with a hard fought 3-2 victory Tuesday against Chambersburg.

Early on, the Huskies started out strong as Hailee Sheetz notched the first goal of the game at 18:56 in the opening period.

As the first half dropped to the 10-minute mark, Lydia Hidlay sent a pass to Keni Kahley as she sent it to the back of the box, giving “the Purple and Black Attack” the 2-0 advantage.

Coming out of the intermission, Chambersburg battled back posting two goals to make it close but a goal by Jordi Attick with 11:59 left in the contest. Her goal proved to be the winning one in the 3-2 victory.

Mifflin County pounded 21 shots on goal while Chambersburg hit 17.

Mifflin County goalie Coletta Beeler had one save.
