Mifflin County 70, Milton Hershey 48
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County got some payback in its 70-48 victory over Milton Hershey during a Mid-Penn Conference girls basketball game on Friday.

The Huskies went into the second period with a slim 13-11 lead. But from the start, they came out firing as the Gingrich sisters Marissa and Maelyn opened up the frame with back-to-back three pointers.

Then Marissa just took off scoring 12 of the 22 total points in the quarter for Mifflin County. Amelia Leister made her presence felt in the frame as well, looking out for her teammates and crashing the boards despite having to deal with a 6’3 center in Molli Hogbin and got some putbacks.

Hogbin then really got going in the third quarter and completely controlled the paint and helped will her team to close the gap on the Huskies. In fact, Hogbin scored 17 of her 24 points in the whole second half.

But once again the Gingrich sisters started dropping shots like crazy in the fourth quarter that closed the game out. The duo combined for 14 of the 19 points scored in the frame.

Marissa Gingrich led the Huskies with a game high of 27 points to go along with four steals and collected five rebounds.

Despite fouling out of the game, Leister was second on the team in scoring with 18 points. Leister also had a steal and three rebounds.

Aija Binder faced the tough assignment of trying to contain Hogbin throughout the evening and collected six rebounds to add to her two points scored for the night.

Mifflin County (10-5) will host Cedar Cliff on Tuesday in their Alicia Bray Eating Disorder Awareness game.
