MC girls top Hershey in Wednesday road contest

HERSHEY – The MIfflin County girls basketball team took to the road Wednesday to take on Mid-Penn foe, Hershey.

In the end, the Lady Huskies were able to muscle through to take home a 53-42 victory.

Offensively, the MIfflin County crew was led by the hot hand of Amelia Leister who finished with a game-high 24-point performance.

Mackenzie Peachey followed with an 11-point evening while teammate Maelyn Gingrich rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

The Huskies outscored Hershey in the first quarter by a slim 12-11 margin. Mifflin County continued to stretch its lead, outscoring their opponent 14-10. With the game going into the intermission, Mifflin County held a 26-21 lead.

The two would both come out of the break and finish with 10 points each.

In the final stanza, the offense continued to roll for the Lady Huskies, ending the score at a 53-42 contest.

in JV action, MIfflin County topped Hershey. Jayda Kanagy finished the contest with 10.
