MC track finishes third at LHU Invitational

Today, Mifflin County’s Track and Field team headed to Lock Haven for the LHU High School Classic. The boys’ team was able to take third place, scoring in nine of the events. The relay teams were able to do something that does not happen often at an invitational by winning all three of the relays. The 4×800 team of Tylor Druckemiller, Reese Cubbison, Isaac Parks-Gill, and Carter Smith ran a leading time 8:08.04. Cy’rell Green, Trevan Diven, Gideon Garland, and Myka Simmons sprinted to the 4×100 finish line first with a time of 44.32. At the end of the meet, the 4×400 relay runners Carter Smith, Isaac Parks-Gill, Wyatt Kauffman and Myka Simmons made a close first-place finish in a time of 3:28.79. Carter Smith won the 1600 with a time of 4:17.86. Myka Simmons broke his own school record in the 100 with a second-place finish of 10.91. Tylor Druckemiller(800, 3rd), Myka Simmons (200, 2nd), Caden Bell (3200, 8th), and Ethan Plank (Triple Jump, 5th) also contributed to the third-place team finish. The girls team scored six points in the meet. Scoring athletes were Libby Cook (Steeple Chase, 6th),  Amelia Coffey (Steeple Chase, 7th) and the 4×800 relay team (8th) of Abby Anderson, Maya Morgan, Carloine Palopoli, and Lexi Anderson. The girls’ team continues to improve, shown by the 19 personal record times and distances achieved by the athletes today.
