13 not unlucky for Lady Indians or Gaisior
Thirteen was not an unlucky number for the Juniata softball team as they improved to 13-0 with yet another shut out of an opponent.
Friday’s opponent, West Perry was added to the long list of teams the Lady Indians have shut out.
Again, Juniata phenom hurler Liz Gaisior threw another one-hitter while striking out 13.
Its offense this season has provided the team a double threat, posting 14 hits on the afternoon.
Gaisior was perfect at the plate as well, going 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI.
Also posting three hits in the contest was teammate Alexa Kuhn. Kuhn went 3-for-3 with two runs.
In the first, Gaisior led the inning off with a single to center.
Regan Lowery mirrored Gaisior’s hit, posting a single of her own to center as Gaisior moved up to second.
Both runners advanced a base on a Mustang miscue on a Lexi Frontz line out.
With two out, Gaisior showed her speed, stealing home to put her team up 1-0 after one.
The flood gates opened for the Lady Indians’ offense plastered back-to-back five run innings en route to the five inning run-shortened contest.
Lowery and Savannah Marshall both finished with two hits each in the win.
