Mifflin County and State College battle to OT thriller

LEWISTOWN – When the State College and MIfflin County girls soccer teams get together, throw out the records and hold on tight because the action is going to be a thrill a minute.
Saturday the two played yet another game that will be added to the rivalry as State College outlasted MIfflin County in an overtime thriller 4-3.
The Little Lions opened the contest with an unassisted goal by Natalie Ausherman at the 2:32 mark.
Mifflin County battled back to tie when Danielle Warfel scored off an assist by Mackenzie Peachey, tying things at 6:19.
Offensively, Ayda Bayly hit her first goal on the night as she scored off a pass from Anna Razzano, 57:48.
Less than two minutes later, Mifflin County’s Lorynn Knepp posted a shot past the goalie at the 59:07 point.
Back came State College when Ayda Bayly 59:25.
Rounding out the Huskies scoring came from the Huskies Emma Herwig as she posted a goal off an assist by Lillie Markley at 76:10.
In the overtime period, State College ended the contest on a third goal Bayly at 82:12, giving her not only the hat trick but the win as well.
State College led in shots on goal by a 16-13 margin while the two teams both finished with three corner opportunities each.
