Mifflin County Babe Ruth 14U All Stars Falls To West End After Intense High-Scoring Game

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Mifflin County Babe Ruth 14U All-Stars fell to West End 17-7 on Wednesday.

Mifflin County struggled to contain the high-powered offense of West End, giving up 17 runs.

MC fired up the offense in the first inning. Logan Ruth drove in one when Ruth doubled.

West End pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second March drew a walk, scoring one run, Ruth induced Naughton to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Bair doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Detrick singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Kirby led things off on the pitcher’s mound for West End. The hurler went four innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out two.

Ruth was on the mound for Mifflin County. Ruth allowed five hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings. Chase Hartung, Braxton Smith, and Nazae Traxler each contributed in relief for Mifflin County.

Mifflin County tallied eight hits on the day. Ruth and Madden Weaver all managed multiple hits for MC. Weaver and Ruth all had two hits to lead Mifflin County.

West End racked up 15 hits in the game. Bair, Naughton, Detrick, and March each collected multiple hits for West End.
