In Reedsville Thursday afternoon, in a non league meet, Mifflin County Boys’ Cross Country squared off against Altoona.

The visiting Mountain Lions jumped off the starting line, took a big lead and never looked back. Caden Bell 2nd (17:45) and Aidan Scavitti 9th (18:54) were the only two Huskies to finish in the top ten. Cam Woomer from Altoona place first in 17:27.

“Altoona finished ahead of us at BVI and their invitational in September. Saturday we finished ahead of them at Carlisle Invitational. I was expecting a real dogfight today but we ended up taking an old fashioned thumping.”

Altoona won the meet 19-44.  Also finishing for Miff Co was Reese Cubbison 12th (18:56), Koy Aurand 14th (19:01), Cody Fultz 15th (19:03), Wyatt Kauffman 17th (19:06), Styers Oden 18th (19:24), Hart Oden (20:18), Camryn Treaster 22 (21:30), Hoyt Rodenbaugh 23rd (22:05), Logan Breneman 25th (22:45), Nathan Goss 30th (27:45).

“This is the fourth week in a row with two meets. The boys are tired. A few kids have some nicks. We will back off the next two days and try to get our legs back underneath us for the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday.

Caden got out and ran a nice race placing second. Aidan and Koy are both freshmen that PR-ed today so we did have a few bright spots.”

Huskies’ record is 3-3 mp, 3-4 overall.
