Mifflin County Soccer Club finish season holds Championship weekend

LEWISTOWN – There was not one, but two exciting soccer games that were being played on Halloween over at Rec Park Sunday afternoon for the Mifflin County Soccer Club Championships in the second and third grade division and the fourth and fifth grade division.

It was Body and Soul taking on Twin Kiss to see who would come out on top and take the fourth and fifth grade championship.

The game had featured two very defensive minded teams and for the majority of the game, neither team really were able to get clean shots on goal. Anytime Body and Soul made a run to the net, Twin Kiss managed to hold them off and launched a counter attack. However, the Body and Soul defense would keep them in check.

As the game was drawing in the end, Alex Reed fired a rocket that went past the goalie and ended up being the game winner with Body and Soul taking a 1-0 victory to win the fourth and fifth grade title.

On the flip side, during the second and third grade finals, B’s Screen Printing and South Side could only be described as fast and furious with both teams going hard for the ball.

But ultimately, it would be B’s Screen Printing who came out on top over South Side by the final score of 4-1.

B’s Screen Printing scored four goals with four different players in Mason Geissinger, Heath Baker, Grant Peachey and Landon Yoder all scored in the game for B’s Screen Printing. Meanwhile for South Side, the only goal that was scored for them was by Kenneth Swartzell.

Congratulations to all four teams for giving it your all in these games.
