Mifflin County softball teams finishes the year as D6 runner ups

The Mifflin County Huskies lost to State College 6-1 on Thursday.
The Little Lions got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Addie Harpster singled, Gabby McTavish doubled, and Sarah Mellott hit into a double play, each scoring one run.
State College extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to home runs by Harpster and Torie Kroboth.
Jalee Bodtorf hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fourth for the Lady Huskies.
Harpster earned the win for State College. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Macy Pietch pitched four innings in relief for Mifflin County. The reliever surrendered three hits and one run while, striking out one and walking two. Piper Specht took the loss for the Huskies. She went two innings, surrendering five runs on six hits, striking out one and walking one.
Bodtorf went 1-for-2 at the plate as the second baseman led the team with one run batted in. Dakota Hershberger went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Mifflin County in hits. Mifflin County turned two double plays in the game. The Lady Huskies didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hershberger had the most chances in the field with nine.
Harpster provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led State College with three runs batted in. They went 3-for-3 on the day. Kennedy Stahl collected two hits for the Little Lions in two at bats. State College turned one double play in the game. The Lady Little Lions didn’t commit a single error in the field. Elizabeth Sikorski had the most chances in the field with nine.
