Mifflin County Track and Field competes at Igloo Invitational in Altoona

The boys and girls track teams of Mifflin County traveled back to Altoona to compete in the Igloo Invitational. On yet another brisk day, Mifflin County was one 32 teams participating in the meet. The 4×800 relay of Styers Oden, Isaac Parks Gill, Cody Fultz and Wyatt Kauffman started the meet by capturing fourth place with a time of 8:38.76. As the meet progressed, Adalyn Ross earned a third place tie with her personal record height of 8’ 6” in pole vault. Also on the field, Ethan Plank took 5th place with his best attempt of 40’8.5” in triple jump and Tai Ematat placed 6th in high jump with a season best height of 4’8”. Back on the track Tylor Druckemiller and Reese Cubbison ran podium 800m times of 2:05.21 and 2:07.57, placing 5th and 7th in the event. Myka Simmons continued his effort to bring down his times in the 100m and 200m dashes. He set school records in both of the events, earning second and third place honors with times of 11.02 and 22.23 seconds. The 1600m run proved to be one of the exciting races of the day. Carter Smith won the event with an exceptional time of 4:16.24. He was followed by teammate Reese Cubbison, who earned his second medal of the day with an eighth place finish in 4:38.73. To finish the meet with a bang, the 4×400 relay team of Myka Simmons, Caden Bell, Tylor Druckemiller and Carter Smith won the event with a time of 3:28.20, beating out State College’s relay team by only .18 of a second.
