Mifflin County tripped up by rival State College in baseball action

LEWISTOWN – Renewing the rivalry.

MIfflin County met Centre Wednesday when Mifflin County met up with State College in baseball action.

In their first meeting of the year it would be the Little Lions that would get the “W”, winning 8-3 at MIfflin County High School.

The two battled back and forth early but it would be State College that would heat up late thanks to a 4-run seventh.

Ty Plank and Jayden Smith led the Huskies with two hits in the contest. Both also posted an RBI.

Jack Coleman led his State College team posting three hits with two singles a double.

Gino Pighetti picked up the win for the Little Lions. He gave up only six hits and two runs in his time on the mound. Teammate Logan Shannon earned the save.

Landen Eichhorn took the loss for the Huskies.
