Penns Valley tops Central in boys’ soccer

Penns Valley vs Central  Sept 16th Penns Valley topped Central in league match
5-2 played at Penns Valley High School.

The Rams outshot Central 20-12
PV’s Jared Kines had five saves whileCentral got seven from Kaven Gahagan.

At the 13:33 mark, Penns Valley’s Nate Gillespie scored the open goal thanks to an assist by Maxton Case.
Twelve minutes later the Rams were at it again. With 25:56 showing on the clock John Statham made 2-0.

The home team made it 3-0 at the 33:57 Mark when Sam Kupp tickled the twine.
Central’s Caleb Stern cut the lead to 3-2 on consecutive goals.
However with 62:42 into the game PV’s Curtis Swartz
and teammate Burton Peese gave the Rams some breathing
Penns Valley controlled the first half amassing a three goal lead. With half time the momentum shifted with Central scoring twice to bring the game within a goal. Defender Curtis Swartz put in a solid shot from 30yds to turn back Central and Burton sealed the win.
