Powerful Pitching Performance From Kolten Martin Carries East Past Line Mountain

Kolten Martin struck out 14 batters as they led East Juniata V past Line Mountain 12-2 on Tuesday. Martin surrendered three hits and two runs over seven innings while walking one.

The Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kelton Bonnell doubled, and Nate Carolus walked, each scoring one run.

East Juniata added three more runs in the top of the third inning on three hits. Martin singled, scoring one run, and Bonnell homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Quinn Dunkelberger stepped on the mound first for Line Mountain. They surrendered six hits and nine runs (seven earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking three.

Bonnell provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Tigers with three runs batted in. They went 2-for-2 on the day. Martin, Bonnell, and Clark Ritzman each collected two hits for East Juniata. Tigers had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Martin and Carolus led the team with two free passes each. Ritzman stole three bases. The Tigers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.

Gavin Dunn went 1-for-3 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in. Trey Geyer went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Line Mountain  in hits.

Next up for East Juniata is a game at Juniata on Thursday.
