Rain Wins Again At Clinton County Motor Speedway

Lock Haven, PA- Spring weather continues to strangle the start of the 2019 racing season at Clinton County Motor Speedway. The season was originally scheduled to start with a practice session April 5. Friday May 3 racing did get started. Then it rained.

A thunderstorm hit the oval after the Weaver’s Radiator Repair/ Jay Coder Excavating & Trucking 270 micro sprints completed heat races. The program was declared a complete rain-out. Quinn Roberts, Ryan McAndrew and Jeff Weaver won 270 qualifiers before the rain came.

Speedway officials will consult with the Stroud family about a suitable make up date for the 2018 Lenny Stroud Jr Memorial race which was rained out twice last season.

Racing is set to continue Friday May10 when the super late models make their first appearance of the year at the fairgrounds raceway. The full blown late models compete in a 30 lap feature which pays the winner $ 2,000. Also on the program are the Gary’s Motor Mart/Laurel Highlands IMCA sprint cars, Millers Automotive Machine pro stocks, TJ Shooters Sports Bar FWD 4 cylinder stock cars and 600 micro sprints.

General admission for adults is $ 15, students 12-17, $ 10, under 12 free. Pit admission is $ 35. Rain checks from May 3 can be used for the next two shows at face value. Ticket holders will pay the difference in admission price if used during the May 10 show.
