Rams heat up late to top Saint Joseph’s Academy

The Penns Valley baseball team defeated a tough results St. Joe’s Catholic Academy team, winning 10-6.

Saint Joseph’s Academy scored a run in the first to take the lead.

Brodzina picked up the win for Penns Valley while Warner took the loss.

The Rams battled back in the bottom of the inning, taking a 2-1 lead.

That lead would last until the top of the third when the Wolfpack rallied to manufacture a tying run.

The Wolfpack went ahead plating three in the fourth.

But Penns Valley refused to stay behind as they cut the Saint Joseph’s lead to one going into the fourth.

From there the Rams’ offense outscored the Wolfpack 6-1 en route to the victory.

Leading the offensive punch were

Ty Houtz (3 for 4 with 3 singles, 2 runs, and 1 RBI), Connor Martz (2 for 3 with 1 single, 1 triple, 2 runs, and 1 RBI), Aidan Brinker (2 for 4 with 2 singles, 1 run, and 1 RBI) and

Mason Lieb (1 double with 3 RBIs).

Penns Valley’s overall record improves to 2-4 and 1-4 in Mountain League action.

Next game for the Rams is Tomorrow, April 20th at Clearfield.
