State College 10Us capture D5 title with win versus Bellefonte Sunday

STATE COLLEGE – The Bellefonte 10u All-Stars lost the lead late in an 11-1 defeat to StateCollege 10u All Stars on Sunday for the District 5 Championship.

State College took the lead late in the game in an 11-1 victory over Bellefonte 10u All-Stars on Sunday.  The game was tied at one with State College batting in the bottom of the third when Andrew Maynard drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Little Lions secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning.

The offensive onslaught by State  was led by Maya Rossman Miles L Laskowski, Jack Cingolani and Gabriel Poziak all driving in runs in the inning.

The Little Lions were fired up the offense in the first inning.  Nolan Schenck drove in one when he singled.

State College scored six runs in the fourth inning.  Maya, Miles, Jack, and Gabriel each had RBIs in the big inning.

Luke Jordan toed the rubber for SCLL 10u All Stars. Jordan allowed two hits and one run over three innings, striking out two and walking one.

Frank Albright was on the hill for Bellefonte. The hurler went two and a third innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out three.  Braxton McClelland threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen.

Gabriel led State College with two hits in three at bats.  The Little Lions  were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Silas Leydig had the most chances in the field with three.
