State College, PA (February 1, 2024) State College Area Roller(SCAR) Derby proudly announces the 12th annual St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, featuring a riveting face-off between the Nittany Nightmares and the Happy Valley
Hellbenders. This action-packed event is set to take place on February 3, 2024, at C3 Sports Arena, with doors opening at
4:30 PM and the first whistle scheduled for 5:00 PM. As the hallmark event of State College Area Roller Derby, the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre has become a beloved tradition, attracting fans from across the region to witness the heart-stopping athleticism, strategic prowess, and relentless determination of the participating teams. This year, SCAR is proud to reveal our newly rebranded intraleague
team names and logos. Come check out our new look! The State College Area Roller Derby invites the community to join in the celebration of this beloved tradition and witness the new rivalry between the Nittany Nightmares and the Happy Valley Hellbenders. This family-friendly event ensures an
unforgettable experience for spectators of all ages. Tickets at $10 at the door, while children 10 and under get in free! Bleachers and folding chairs are available for seating; front row seating is 18+ only. As always, you may bring your own

About State College Area Roller Derby SCAR Derby is a skater-owned and operated women’s flat-track derby league founded in 2010. We are a volunteer organization, including skater athletes, referees, and officials. Our membership is comprised of individuals from the Centre Region spanning a wide range of ages and lifestyles. Together, we form a strong community of athleticism, healthy competition and fellowship. In 2015, SCAR Derby proudly became a member of Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and now competes for an international ranking. SCAR Derby has a travel A-team, a travel B-team, and two home teams who practice year-round and compete from February through November. We operate as a 501(c)3 non-profit
organization, funded by league dues, ticket sales, skating clinic fees, sponsorship/ad sales, and donations.
