State College notches Husky Duals title
The State College Area wrestling team went a perfect 2-0 Saturday at Mifflin County High School in Saturday’s Husky Duals .
In the opening match against Lower Dauphin, the Little Lions dominated winning 67-6 to get the day started off in the right direction.
In the finals against a strong MIfflin County squad State College Area Hs finished with a 47.0-15.0 victory.
At 160, MIfflin County’s Anson Wagner gave his team an early lead as he pulled off a 2-0 decision over Braden Newby.
172-pounder Lance Urbas got an easy win for State with a forfeit victory.
In the 189-pound weight class the Lions Ty Price found himself in a battle with MIfflin County’s Trey Shoemaker but escaped the victor of a 11-7 victory.
Nick Pavlechko took the win at 215 via pin fall over Jaxson Pupo at 5:06.
At 285 State’s Harrison Schoen picked up the forfeit win.
106-pounder Madeline Baney also gave her team another forfeit victory.
MIfflin County’s Nic Allison got his team back on the scoreboard at 113 as he pinned Thomas Hill at 0:32.
State College got back in the win column at 120 when Bailey Weaverling won via forfeit.
At the 126-weight class both team’s had a double forfeit.
132-pounder Owen Woolcott notched the win for State College as he won over Deakon Schaeffer by a technical fall , 17-2 at 4:58.
State Continued it’s winning ways at 138 when Pierson Manville defeated Lucas Sheetz via Fall at 1:02.
The Lions picked up its last win of the day at 145 when Kyle Martin slid past Jacob Cunningham 7-6.
The Huskies notched a win at 152, Kyler Everly won over Carter Weaverling via a pin fall at 1:32.
