State College tops Penns Valley in JVFL title tilt

The State College Little Lions midget team made it a clean sweep on the weekend as its Pee Wee also took home the Juniata Football League title, recently.
The Midgets held an early 8-0 first half advantage and never looked back as they went onto the 22-0 shut out of fellow Centre County foe, Penns Valley.
State College won the coin toss and deferred to the second half allowing the Rams the first crack of it on offense.
The first quarter became owned by both defenses as they both went into the second quarter scoreless.
Going into the second, the Little Lions took up most of the second quarter marching down the field on a 17-play drive that culminated in a 4th down and seven touchdown pass.
With 10 seconds left on the first half clock, quarterback Conrad Moore found Jack Wunz on a 33-yard hook up. State College also picked up the 2-point conversion, making it 8-0 going into the intermission.
In the second half, the Rams thought the had an early touchdown to cut into the State College lead but it was called back on a holding penalty.
Instead, the Little Lions made the most of it when Cato Legaspi rumbled for an 89-yard touchdown run, upping the lead to 14-0.
With its defense still posting a shut out,State College still added a insurance TD late in the game.
Lance Urbas broke open a 46-yard run. The Little Lions once again put up a successful 2-point conversion en route to the 22-0 victory.
